Fractional laser therapy for smoother skin
Stretch marks (striae) are a common concern affecting both men and women, often appearing after pregnancy, rapid weight changes, or growth spurts. At Kassir Dermatology, fractional laser therapy stimulates collagen and elastin production to significantly improve the appearance of stretch marks on any area of the body.
Fractional laser energy creates thousands of microscopic treatment columns in the skin, triggering the body's natural healing response. This stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin, gradually improving the texture and appearance of stretch marks. Both ablative and non-ablative fractional lasers may be used depending on the severity.
Most patients with stretch marks are candidates for treatment. Newer, reddish stretch marks (striae rubra) typically respond faster than older, white ones (striae alba), though both can be improved. A consultation is required to assess your specific concerns.
A series of 3–6 sessions is typically recommended, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Improvement is gradual, with continued progress over several months as new collagen forms. Mild redness and peeling are expected after each session.
While complete removal is not always possible, significant improvement in texture and color is achievable with a series of treatments.
Newer, pink or red stretch marks (striae rubra) typically respond more quickly. Older, white stretch marks (striae alba) can also be improved, though more sessions may be needed.
